fees charged for this service and allow four business days for processing
of payments by PayPal. Clients should contact the owner by E-Mail
regarding wire transfers or other methods of payment. Personal checks
drawn on banks outside the US will not be accepted. The final 25%

after the designated arrival time. The remaining 25% of the rental
fee must also be given to him in Euros at that time or at an arranged
time if banks are closed. He will be the client's contact in Paris
and his mobile phone number will be provided to you upon receipt of
completed reservation paperwork and payment of 75% of the rental fee.
-

will be made at the owner's discretion.
-
Damage
to Property and Deposit Refund: Broken dishes, glasses, or
any damage to the studio or its contents must be reported to the owner's
personal representative on or before client's designated departure
date. If damaged items are not replaced during the rental period,
their cost will be deducted from the security deposit. The $500 security
deposit, less any deductions for damaged property, shall be sent to
the client's address within 30 days of the departure date.
-
Insurance:
Clients are encouraged to purchase a comprehensive travel
insurance policy including coverages for cancellation of flights,
injury, and loss of personal property. The owner carries only basic
liability and hazard insurance for the apartment.
-
Check-In/Check-Out:
Unless other arrangements are made, the rental period shall not commence
before Noon on the arrival date nor continue past 10 am on the date
of departure. Although the owner shall not be obliged to offer the
accommodation outside the rental period, he will accommodate clients
whenever possible. Please be courteous to the next occupant and recognize
that the studio must be cleaned before your arrival and after your
departure. There are several cafes and other pleasant places to wait
within a hundred yards of the building.
-
Disturbances/Noise:
All guests agree not to make excessive noise in the studio between the
hours of 10 PM and 8 am, not to cause disruption in any public areas of
the building, and not to disturb or harass the building occupants or neighbors
no matter how attractive and flirtatious they appear to be to us non-French
folk. Running, horseplay, or other unsafe behavior is not permitted in
the stairwell, apartment, or common areas of the building.
-
No
Smoking/Noxious fumes: No smoking or burning of incense is permitted
inside the studio at any time. Smelly cheeses, fish or other food products
should be properly kept in sealed containers inside the refrigerator.
-
Repairs:
Any breakages to appliances, heating, plumbing, electricity, or
articles inside the studio not caused by the client should be reported
to the owner's personal representative as soon as possible so that timely
arrangements for repair or replacement can be made. Reasonable adjustments
to the rental rate can be made at the owner's discretion.
-
Limitations
of Liability: The owner shall not be liable to the client for
-
any
temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the
property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance
in the property.
-
any
loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions,
civil unrest, strikes, Force Majeur or other matters beyond
the control of the owner.
-
any
loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the client
if the property is destroyed, substantially damaged or otherwise made
uninhabitable prior to the rental period. In any such event,
the owner shall notify the client and refund all deposit and reservation
fees paid within 10 days.
-
any
problems or conditions resulting from the necessity to climb stairs
to gain access to the studio. The client recognizes that there
are six flights of stairs to climb to gain access to the unit and
acknowledges that s/he is physically capable of climbing stairs without
difficulty.
-
any
emotional distress or sadness the client may suffer as a result of
returning to drab, charmless cities or suburbs in the US or elsewhere
after having lived as a Parisian in le
Vieux Paris.
Under
no circumstances shall the owner's liability to the client exceed the
amount paid to the owner for the rental period. The
client recognizes that
suing for fun and profit is an obnoxious American behavior that will not
be tolerated in France. |
